Prahran’s premiere venue Wilson & Market will host two special events in this year’s Good Beer Week program. Award-winning chef Paul Wilson has teamed up with local suppliers and breweries to get crafty for the festival.
First up is Biodynamics & Beer in partnership with Stone & Wood and Transition Farm on Saturday 12 May. Expect a generous feast of sustainable seafood and wood roasted ethically farmed meat, alongside abundant plant based and vegetarian gastronomy to thrill all food lovers. Beer crafted with the same integrity and unique flavour will be matched to each wave of delicious sustainable, seasonal and natural food.
Wilson said: “Vegetables, like craft beer, are the new forces in progressive dining and are a chef’s best friend.” Both Paul Wilson and Transition Farm’s Robyn &Peter Carolyn grow unique and exotic varieties of biodynamic vegetables, fruit, plants and herbs.
Guests will hear from Robyn Carolyn ,Paul Wilson and sustainability manager James Perrin of Byron Bay’s Stone & Wood Brewery.

Next up for Good Beer Week is BBQ & BREWS on Friday 18 May, which will be a Meatopia and craft beer extravaganza in the stylish Terrace Bar section of Wilson & Market.
The event will showcase luxe barbecue, a myriad of bench mark craft brews, and a special keg of Purple corn craft beer from brewer Ben Kraus of Bridge Road Brewery. This is an Australian brewing first Purple corn is a super food revered in south America discovered by Paul on his culinary travels the beer is inspired by Chicha morada a well-being drink as it’s known in Peru as its extremely anti-oxidant dense the purple corn is now grown in QLD so Australians can enjoy its naturally healthy benefits This fun event is a stand-up block party complete with DJ, pop up beer stations, delicious barbecue and charcuterie creations from Paul Wilson and Gamekeepers.

60kg of potatoes destined for landfill were saved and donated by Oz Harvest to put in this Stone & Wood beer for Brewsvegas. The addition of two types of potato adds additional starch and enhances the smooth body of the beer. This strong pale ale is bursting with a healthy dose Galaxy, Enigma and Fortnight hops giving it a high hop aroma and flavour of tropical fruit and citrus with a firm bitterness. Medium body with light malt flavour and aroma.

Infused with local bush ingredients and raw Flow Hive Honey, this refreshing Cream Ale was dreamt up by an artist, local inventor and a wild chef who all share a love for the natural world. The beer has native notes of floral honey, smoked wattle seeds, ginger and strawberry gum that work in harmony with a light malt flavour, finishing dry and crisp.

X is named after the Roman numeral for 10 and is a huge imperial stout that celebrates the hallmarks of the style, it comes in at 10% ABV. it pours jet black with a chocolate head and features incredible depth of malt flavours and aromas of espresso, cocoa, tobacco and dark fruits. X is aggressive but refined with a warming palate that is full-bodied but balanced by an assertive bitterness. A spectacularly big, complex and delightful brew that is best to be shared.
